Heartland I recap October 22, 2013
Weston Baylor and Evan Tanner provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Shikellamy. The connection went for 77 yards, the longest such play in Heartland I this season.
Shamokin Area fell to Southern Columbia Area 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Danville's dynamic duo of Baylor and Zack Kozick proved to be unstoppable against the Braves, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Baylor threw for 231 yards and 3 touchdowns and Kozick had 102 yards receiving. Tanner helped Danville's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 98 yards.
Dominic Loffredo was a key player and the best on defense this week as Jersey Shore lost to Selinsgrove. The 6-foot-0 junior forced 1 fumble.
He went 11-17 with 0 interceptions.
5-foot-11 quarterback Logan English of the Bulldogs is the league leader in passing yards this season with 985. He has also thrown 7 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Tanner. The Danville star has 21 catches for 415 yards.
Sam Dressler of the the Ironmen is just 65 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 125 carries Dressler has put up 935 yards this year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Milton takes on Jersey Shore. The Black Panthers are currently in second, while Tom Gravish's team is in sixth.
