Baseball Recap: Atlantic County Institute of Tech Drops Season-High Score on Atlantic Christian

Atlantic County Institute of Tech had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-10 to make it five. They fell just short of the Atlantic Christian Cougars by a score of 17-16. On the bright side, the 16- run performance marked Atlantic County Institute of Tech's highest-scoring matchup to date.

As for Atlantic Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch.

For Atlantic Christian's part, the team relied heavily on Seth Phillips, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Phillips a new career-high. Carter Knuth was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atlantic County Institute of Tech will challenge Buena at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Atlantic Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Calvary Academy at 4:00 p.m. on May 2.
