Softball Recap: Onsted's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Onsted can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Sand Creek Aggies 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 20, 2024.

Megan Hunt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hannah Hill, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ashlynn Wilson was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Onsted's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Sand Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Coming up, Onsted will head out on the road to face off against Clinton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sand Creek, they will square off against Erie-Mason at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
