After two weeks on the road, Monroe City is heading back home. On Friday they take on Clark County at 7:00 PM. If the game is anything like the 44-36 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
Monroe City might be getting used to good results now that the squad have three wins in a row. They got past Helias with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 34-28. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (28) and coasted on those for the win.
Meanwhile, Clark County put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 30-8 margin over Palmyra. Clark County were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 6-1. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
