Jupiter Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Lakeland Christian Vikings at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Jupiter Christian rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Saints a 4-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Jupiter Christian, who have now won 12 matches by three goals or more so far this season.
They hit All Saints' Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Riley Goodman (2),
Juliana Tibbs, and
Sydney Cariero.
Meanwhile, Lakeland Christian had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 goals), and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They came out on top against Pine by a score of 2-0. Lakeland Christian's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four games.
Jupiter Christian pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 52 goals over those nine contests. As for Lakeland Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3-1 record this season.
Jupiter Christian might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Lakeland Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Jupiter Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
