Softball Recap: College Station Has No Trouble Against Rudder

While College Station put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Rudder. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Rangers. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Kenslee Palasota was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Callia Carreon, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

College Station always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rudder only posted an OBP of .211.

College Station pushed their record up to 21-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Rudder, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

College Station and Rudder could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 26th) will meet Lake Creek (ranked first) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rudder will face off against Brenham at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (639 vs. 147).
