The Linsly School's game  on Tuesday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by  an  8-0 margin over the Toronto Red Knights. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Cadets as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.
 Madison ?May? Applegarth made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   keeping things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  a single  walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles. Those  two  doubles gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news, The Linsly School got a  massive  performance out of  Aubrei Joanou, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Those  two  stolen bases gave  Joanou a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alyssa Heath, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs and two  doubles.
 The Linsly School  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .548. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
The Linsly School's record now sits at 4-11. As for Toronto, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record  this season.
 The Linsly School will have some time to savor their  win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Martins Ferry at 5:30  p.m.  on May 8. As for Toronto, they will challenge Heartland Christian at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14  runs per game on average), something the Red Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
