The Redeemer Christian Lions and the Countryside Christian Minutemen squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but sadly the Redeemer Christian Lions had to settle for second. They took a 37-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Minutemen. While losing is never fun, Redeemer Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Minutemen are ranked 219th).
Samantha Keith was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for Countryside Christian. Keith is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Watson, who scored no points along with 15 rebounds.
Redeemer Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Countryside Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Redeemer Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Countryside Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Buccaneers at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th.
