The Campo Verde Coyotes will square off against the Gilbert Tigers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Campo Verde sitting on three straight wins and Gilbert on four.
Gilbert's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: Campo Verde hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Coyotes' pitcher stepped up to hand Mesquite a 10-0 shutout on Friday.
Molly Davis made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Campo Verde got a massive performance out of Chloe Singer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave Singer a new career-high. Ava Forsythe was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Campo Verde hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive games.
Gilbert let Williams Field stack six runs on them in the seventh inning on Thursday but luckily Gilbert prevailed anyway. The Tigers skirted past the Black Hawks 12-11.
The team relied heavily on Hayley Joiner, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Serenity Romero, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Campo Verde's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Gilbert, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Campo Verde hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Gilbert struggles in that department as they've averaged .348. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
