Basketball Game Preview: Owen Warhorses vs. Rosman Tigers

Owen has gone 9-1 against Rosman recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Owen Warhorses will host the Rosman Tigers at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Owen's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Rosman is facing Owen at the wrong time: Owen suffered their first home loss of the season on Wednesday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 84-81. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (69), the Warhorses still had to take the loss.

Owen's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Asante Martin, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds, and Jared Kelley, who went 9 for 19 on his way to 26 points and eight boards. The game was Martin's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Eli Lewkowicz was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight assists and five boards.

Even though they lost, Owen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Rosman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 61-21 loss at the hands of Mitchell. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.

Rosman's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Owen, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-5.

Everything came up roses for Owen against Rosman in their previous meeting on January 7th, as the team secured a 66-21 win. Will Owen repeat their success, or does Rosman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
