After flying high against the Pine Grove Cardinals on Thursday, the Pottsville Crimson Tide came back down to earth. Pottsville took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hazleton Area on Saturday. Pottsville has not had much luck with Hazleton Area recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Pottsville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Letrel Montone, who scored 13 points. Christian Alvarez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Pottsville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Hazleton Area, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pottsville will take on Tamaqua at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hazleton Area, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Reading at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
