The Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Falfurrias 18-13. Santa Gertrudis Academy lost against Falfurrias in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 43-21 score last time.
Santa Gertrudis Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Falfurrias, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Santa Gertrudis Academy will head out on the road to face off against Progreso at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Progreso comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Falfurrias, they will be playing at home against San Diego at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. San Diego knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Falfurrias likes a good challenge.
