Jefferson has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Le Mars Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 20th).
Last Tuesday, Jefferson suffered a tough 65-40 defeat at the hands of the Lynx.
Jefferson's defeat came about despite a quality game from Grace Strong, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Strong has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandi Jarmon, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Jefferson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Le Mars put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Sioux City North 69-35 at home. The win was familiar territory for Le Mars who now have three in a row.
Jefferson's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Le Mars, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Jefferson was taken down by the Bulldogs 59-22 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Jefferson was down 31-9.
