Berkeley Prep extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 2-12. They lost 8-2 to the Land O' Lakes Gators. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.
Berkeley Prep saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Malin, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Evangeline Iarossi also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
As for Land O' Lakes, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games.
On Land O' Lakes' side, Miyah Davis was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Davis has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gianna Flores, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Morris, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Berkeley Prep will head out to take on Academy of the Holy Names at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Land O' Lakes, they will welcome Anclote at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
