Murray is 7-1 against Park City since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Murray Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Park City Miners at 7:00 p.m. Murray will be strutting in after a win while Park City will be coming in after a defeat.
Murray proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 31) but on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Tooele 75-73. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Murray's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quinton Christman, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Beh, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Park City pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stansbury.
Murray has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Park City, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Murray beat Park City 73-63 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Park City's Duke Gordon, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Murray still be able to contain Gordon? There's only one way to find out.
