The Lower Richland Diamond Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 27 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Brookland-Cayce 61-7 on the road. That 61-7 margin sets a new team best for Lower Richland this season.
Lower Richland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pa'Najala Curry led the charge by scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Curry set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Another player making a difference was Chanyse Green, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Lower Richland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Brookland-Cayce, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-8.
Lower Richland won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gilbert at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. Hopefully Gilbert focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Friday. As for Brookland-Cayce, they will head out on the road to face off against Dreher at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dreher comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
