The Upland Highlanders/Scots will head out on the road to face off against the Chino Hills Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chino Hills took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Upland, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Upland didn't have too much trouble with Etiwanda at home as they won 42-28.
Upland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trent Dailey, who rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Justin Benson also helped out with an impressive 144 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Chino Hills fell victim to Rancho Cucamonga's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Cougars on the road and fell 49-0. While losing is never fun, Chino Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Rancho Cucamonga is ranked tenth).
Upland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Chino Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Everything came up roses for Upland against Chino Hills in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 28-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Upland since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
