Wayne has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Tug Valley Panthers at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday. Wayne knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Tug Valley likes a good challenge.
Wayne pushed their score all the way to 56 last Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buffalo.
Wayne's loss came about despite a quality game from Isaac Meddings, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds. Meddings continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Adkins, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Tug Valley on the road against Tolsia last Friday as the team secured a 75-46 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tug Valley.
Wayne bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Tug Valley, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
