Baseball Recap: Central Catholic Find Success

Central Catholic lost to Chelmsford back in May of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Raiders skirted past the Lions 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted against the Lions since April 10, 2018.

Kyle Hayes was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Central Catholic: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Anthony Polichetti was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Central Catholic's record now sits at 2-4. As for Chelmsford, they moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Central Catholic has already played their next game, a 5-0 defeat against La Salle Academy on the 18th. As for Chelmsford, they will challenge Boston College High at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.7, the Eagles 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
