If the Lamar Texans were feeling good off their 69-38 takedown of the Chavez Lobos last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lamar took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bellaire on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Lamar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while Bellaire is ranked 75th).
Shelton Henderson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bellaire, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Henderson hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Anthony Andrews was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Bellaire, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 21-6.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Heights the next time they take the court. Lamar will head out to face Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Bellaire will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
