The Coyotes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellow Jackets at 6:45 p.m. Anna has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Anna's offense. They came up short against Walnut Grove on Tuesday, falling 15-0. Considering the last time the Coyotes couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.
Anna saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ilyana Pech, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.
Meanwhile, Denison owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They put the hurt on Sherman with a sharp 7-0 victory. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Camden Mack made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other pitching news, Kamryn Watt looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Makayla Tilley, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Hailey Shrum, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.
Anna's loss dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Denison, their win bumped their record up to 18-13.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Anna hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Denison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Anna came up short against Denison in their previous matchup back in March, falling 5-1. Will the Coyotes have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
