Pine Forest and Milton are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Pine Forest Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Milton Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Ja'Len Rawls made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Char'Son Floyd was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Milton was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They blew past Northview 11-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Panthers have posted since April 4, 2024.
Saylor Melton made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off four hits. Melton was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Harley Messer was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Brayden Barrow, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Milton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northview only posted a batting average of .107.
The win made it two in a row for Milton and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Pine Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Pine Forest came up short against Milton when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 10-6. Can Pine Forest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
