The Alexander Trojans will be playing at home against the Pembroke Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pembroke took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Alexander, who comes in off a win.
Alexander had to kick off their season on the road back in November of 2023, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed by R on the road to the tune of 77-27.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Pembroke's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 46-40 loss to they.
Despite the loss, Pembroke saw an underclassman step up: Peyton Liss scored 22 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Liss scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Seneca Calderon, who scored seven points.
Alexander's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Pembroke, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.
Alexander strolled past Pembroke when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 51-34. Will Alexander repeat their success, or does Pembroke have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
