Carson City-Crystal has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Ashley Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Carson City-Crystal will be strutting in after a victory while Ashley will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Carson City-Crystal beat St. Charles 37-32.
Carson City-Crystal's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Reeder led the charge by scoring 14 points. Bryson LeDuke was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Ashley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 66-25 loss at the hands of Breckenridge. While losing is never fun, Ashley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 720th, while Breckenridge is ranked 312th).
Carson City-Crystal's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Ashley, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13.
Carson City-Crystal strolled past Ashley in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 55-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carson City-Crystal since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
