It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Oneida Indians can now relate to. They were dealt a 34-7 loss at the hands of York Institute on Friday. Oneida was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Myles Leffew was his usual excellent self, rushing for 159 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Leffew was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. Riylin Miller was another key contributor, rushing for 79 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Oneida's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for York Institute, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Oneida does not have any more games scheduled as of now. York Institute will head out on the road to face off against Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hampton is on a five-game streak of home wins, York Institute a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
