The Olathe Pirates will take on the Center Vikings at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Olathe has four straight wins, Center has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Olathe will bounce into Friday's contest after beating North Fork, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Miners 7-6 on Tuesday.

Bryce Good made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Olathe's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bridger Vincent, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Olathe is 7-2 when Vincent posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Juan Ramirez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Center's offense. They came up short against Monte Vista on Saturday, falling 28-0.
Center's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Olathe, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Center's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Olathe hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .389. It's a different story for Center, though, as they've only averaged .218. Will they be able to contain Olathe's hitters?
Olathe got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Center by a conclusive 25-5 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
