The Neuse Charter Cougars will face off against the American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday.
Monday just wasn't the day for Neuse Charter's offense. They lost  19-0 to East Wake Academy on Monday.

Meanwhile, American Leadership Academy-Johnston is still undefeated  this season after their  contest against Franklin Academy  on Friday, but Franklin Academy came as close as anyone has to beating them. American Leadership Academy-Johnston came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  a   5-4 W against Franklin Academy.
 Gavin Jackson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. He has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Robert Boswell, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.  Cash Tolley was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
 American Leadership Academy-Johnston pushed their record up to 6-0 with the  victory, which was their seventh straight  on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Neuse Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
