The Sunnyslope Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Millennium Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Sunnyslope's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Mohave. Considering the Vikings have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kindness Williams looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Sam Hyde was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Molly Nordstrom, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Sunnyslope always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Millennium had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Alhambra on Friday as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The Tigers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 1st (when they won 17-1).
Charlotte McCloskey was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carmen Casillas, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Ryan Scott also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
The win made it two in a row for Sunnyslope and bumps their season record up to 8-12. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Millennium, their record now sits at 8-19.
Sunnyslope took their win against Millennium in their previous meeting on Wednesday by a conclusive 19-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
