After a string of six wins, the Chambers Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 83-71 to North Mecklenburg. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (67), Chambers still had to take the loss.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maurio Hanson II, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tarris Bouie, who scored 15 points.
Chambers' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7. As for North Mecklenburg, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chambers will take on West Charlotte at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Chambers' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for North Mecklenburg, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hopewell at 7:30 p.m. North Mecklenburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,908 points over their last 22 contests.
