Baseball Recap: Cowanesque Valley Has No Trouble Against Oswayo Valley

While Cowanesque Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Oswayo Valley Green Wave with a sharp 15-4 win on Monday. Considering the Indians have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Loagan Stickler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Levi Stahli was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Cowanesque Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oswayo Valley only posted an OBP of .273.

Cowanesque Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-1-1. As for Oswayo Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cowanesque Valley will challenge Coudersport at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Oswayo Valley, they will take on Cameron County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.8 runs per game on average), something the Green Wave will no doubt try to take advantage of.
