The Hammond Academy of Science & Tech Hawks will head out on the road to  challenge  the Westville Blackhawks  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.
 Having struggled with four  losses in a row, Hammond Academy of Science & Tech finally turned things around against Washington Township  on Thursday. They never let the Senators onto the board and left with  a   1-0  win. The Hawks wouldn't have won without  Darieon Bolden, who scored the game-winner.
 Something new happened  on Thursday as  Mileani Landa saw his first action of the season, playing four minutes against Washington Township. Landa made the most of the opportunity,  putting up an  assist. A few more games like that and  he might be seeing even more time going forward.
 Meanwhile,  after failing to score in their last  matchup, Westville made sure to put some  goals up on the board against River Forest  on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Ingots out  5-4.
 Hammond Academy of Science & Tech's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Westville, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
