The Lanier Christian Academy Lightning scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Trinity Prep, posting a 88-9 victory on the road. Lanier Christian Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four contests by 21 points or more this season.
Leading Lanier Christian Academy to victory were Jia Thapar and Emma Flowers. Thapar scored 20 points along with three steals, while Flowers dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for Thapar. Meav Fouts was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
The victory (which was Lanier Christian Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 5-5. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 50 points. As for Trinity Prep, they bumped their record down to 2-3 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lanier Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Killian Hill Christian at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th. Killian Hill Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Trinity Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greene County at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
