Stanton is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Parker Braves at 6:00 p.m. Stanton has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Stanton took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Raines 21-12. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Leah Joseph made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up nine earned (and three unearned) runs off 15 hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Zariah Harvey was a standout: she scored five runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Emmalyn Gensch was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-6.
Meanwhile, Parker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Englewood, falling 16-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Braves were not able to get on the board.
Parker saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Courtni Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Thomas' first of the season.
Stanton's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Parker, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Parker's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Stanton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Parker, though, as they've been averaging only 2.2 strikeouts. Will Stanton keep running through batters, or will Parker buck the trend?
Stanton took their win against Parker in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 24-8. Does Stanton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Parker turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
