After flying high against the Riverside Rams last Friday, the West Valley Eagles came back down to earth. West Valley fell just short of Freeman by a score of 40-38. West Valley lost against Freeman in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 89-39 score last time.
Leading Freeman to victory were Taylee Phelps and Natalie Semprimoznik. Phelps scored 17 points, while Semprimoznik scored 19 points. The matchup was Phelps' sixth in a row with at least ten points.
West Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Freeman, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
West Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Hermiston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Freeman won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Colville at 7:15 p.m. on December 15th. Colville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Freeman likes a good challenge.
