The Desert Oasis Diamondbacks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coronado. Desert Oasis lost against Coronado in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 68-34 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coronado to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabrielle Brooks, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Creer, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Desert Oasis bumped their record down to 3-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Coronado, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Oasis the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Faith Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th. Faith Lutheran is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Coronado, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Desert Pines at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Desert Pines focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 last Thursday.
