The Exeter Monarchs entered their tilt with the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Exeter managed a 12-7 win over Sierra Pacific on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Exeter also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Exeter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Molina out in front who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown. Exeter also got help from Aidan Robertson who showed off his sure hands for 100 receiving yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Sierra Pacific to a paltry 236 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Exeter's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Clayton Germaine and his two sacks.
When it comes to explaining why Sierra Pacific lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brody Kent. Despite the final result, he picked up 111 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Exeter's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1. As for Sierra Pacific, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-3.
Exeter will head out on the road to face off against Reedley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sierra Pacific, they will be playing at home against Hanford West at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hanford West is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
