In what's become a running theme this season, the Elmwood-Murdock Knights gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 54-29 margin over Fillmore Central. With that win, Elmwood-Murdock brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.
Tatum Backemeyer was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Delaney "laney" Frahm was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
The win (which was Elmwood-Murdock's seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points per game. As for Fillmore Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Elmwood-Murdock will head out on the road to square off against Freeman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Freeman is ranked 46th, while Elmwood-Murdock is ranked 24th). As for Fillmore Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Centennial and Fillmore Central are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
