Perry hasn't had much luck against Pinnacle recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pumas will host the Pioneers at 3:45 p.m. Perry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Perry is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-5 to Chandler, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Devin Dekavallas and Ryan Davie stepped up to the plate in a big way. Dekavallas went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Davie went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Pinnacle entered their tilt with Boulder Creek on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Jaguars.
Noah Weiss tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pinnacle is 3-0-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 10-11 otherwise.
At the plate, Sam Green was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Pinnacle: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10-1 otherwise. Erik Moo was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Perry's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Pinnacle, their win bumped their record up to 13-11-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Perry hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Pinnacle struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Perry suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to Pinnacle when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will the Pumas have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
