The Green Hope Falcons's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They came out on top against Wake Forest by a score of 67-57. With that victory, Green Hope brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Green Hope to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Dean, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Nikhil Ranga, who scored 15 points.
Despite the defeat, Wake Forest had strong showings from Palmer Chase, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds, and Caleb Lashley, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Mcdonald, who scored 4 points along with 8 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Wake Forest were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Green Hope only posted six.
Green Hope's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Wake Forest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Green Hope will head out on the road to face off against Riverside-Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Riverside-Durham focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Wake Forest, they will be playing at home against Cardinal Gibbons at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cardinal Gibbons presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wake Forest in North Carolina (Cardinal Gibbons is ranked 61st, while Wake Forest is ranked 564th).
