Section 4 C Division VI recap Oct. 23, 2012
Waverly extended the longest winning streak in Section 4 C Division VI this week by beating Charles O. Dickerson, 42-12. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Wolverines.
Waverly took down the Blue Raiders 42-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Zack Cooney threw for 68 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 34 yards in the win.
Jason Miller's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Dylan Guttierez chipped in 110 yards. Austin Bostwick helped Waverly's passing attack out by catching four balls for 20 yards.
Dylan Perry was the best wideout in the league this week as the Wolverines topped Charles O. Dickerson. Perry tallied one reception for 29 yards.
Waverly's Cooney and Bostwick have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cooney has thrown for 887 yards this season, while Bostwick, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 34 catches for 478 yards. Watkins Glen's Brady Myers leads the league in rushing yards with 814.
The Wolverines led Section 4 C Division VI in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on John Dunlap's team. Cooney in the win.
