The National Christian Academy Eagles pushed their score all the way to 70 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 93-70 walloping at the hands of Highland. While losing is never fun, National Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 176th in Maryland, while Highland is ranked 11th in Virginia).
National Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachai Sharpe, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Sitton, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
