In what's become a running theme this season, the Clever Blue Jays gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 75-50 margin over Marionville. The win was familiar territory for Clever who now have three in a row.
Despite the loss, Marionville still got an impressive performance from Lucy Newberry, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Newberry has scored all season.
Clever's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-7. As for Marionville, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clever will challenge Fair Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Fair Grove is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Clever a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Marionville, they will head out on the road to challenge Sarcoxie at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
