Mount St. Joseph got a 49 - 15 win over Capital Christian Academy last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Marlowe Wax. Wax rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns. That performance landed Wax among the top power-ranked players for the week.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
Glenelg was the better team in every quarter against River Hill last week and consequently the better team overall. Everything went Glenelg's way against River Hill as it secured a 35 - 0 win. Glenelg did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. With 12 consecutive wins, Glenelg boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.
Game of Inches
It doesn't get any closer than a one-point game, and that was the margin of last week's closest contest, which featured thrill-seekers Mergenthaler Vo-Tech and Paint Branch. Mergenthaler Vo-Tech dodged a bullet, finishing off Paint Branch 21 - 20. Nevertheless, Mergenthaler Vo-Tech did not have enough punch to impress the power rankings algorithm and slipped one spot in the rankings.
