Zoie Bernard was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two triples. She is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Khloe Spence, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
St. Benedict at Auburndale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive matches.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Arlington and Briarcrest Christian have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Tigers blew past the Saints 8-2. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Gabby Brewer tossed a big game, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, Arlington got a big performance out of Lillian Hatch, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Hatch's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Cooper, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Arlington's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-11-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, their record is now 20-5.
Arlington's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. St. Benedict at Auburndale has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Arlington, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will St. Benedict at Auburndale keep running through batters, or will the Tigers buck the trend?
St. Benedict at Auburndale couldn't quite get it done against Arlington when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 10-5. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
