Softball Recap: Prosser Has No Trouble Against Zillah

Prosser won the last time they faced Zillah and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mustangs blew past the Leopards 13-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Layla Barnhart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Prosser got a massive performance out of Hannah Beck, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Beck a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mallory Barnhart, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Prosser kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Prosser's victory bumped their record up to 2-13-1. As for Zillah, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Coming up, Prosser will challenge Quincy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Zillah, they will take on Naches Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rangers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
