Softball Recap: Greenville Has No Trouble Against North Mac

After only one run in their last game, Greenville made sure to put some runs up on the board against North Mac on Monday. The Comets blew past the Panthers 14-0. Considering the Comets have won 16 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Payton White made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. White was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Greenville let Ava Potthast and Kaitlyn Lurkins run wild. Potthast fired off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-4, while Lurkins went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, Potthast posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylee Clark, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Greenville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Mac only posted an OBP of .318.

Greenville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That lines up perfectly with their 19-6-1 record this season. As for North Mac, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-19-1.

Greenville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-4 loss against Okawville on the 14th. North Mac has also already played their next matchup (against New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
