IV Section V recap November 5, 2013
Spencer Wilkening and Brennan Schimmel provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Fountain Hills. The longest such play in IV Section V this season, the connection resulted in 95 yards.
Show Low added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Payson, 56-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Cougars.
Blue Ridge's dynamic duo of Wilkening and Schimmel proved to be unstoppable against the Falcons, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wilkening threw for 271 yards and 2 touchdowns and Schimmel had 196 yards receiving. Tristen Penrod helped Blue Ridge's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 44 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Tyus Sarnowski. The Payson star has 50 catches for 847 yards.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when the Longhorns' Sarnowski goes up against Show Low's Trevor Solomon.
The Yellow Jackets' Chris Johnson is a mere 20 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 101 carries Johnson has put up 980 yards this year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Randy Ricedorff's team takes on Payson. At the moment, the Cougars are in second, while Jake Swartwood's team is in fifth.
Snowflake took down Globe 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Alex Foree in the win.
