Basketball Recap: White Creek Christian Academy Comes Up Short

White Creek Christian Academy had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-5 to make it four. They fell 65-55 to the Friendship Christian Spartans. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 59-55.

Despite the loss, White Creek Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Maximus Whitmire, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. Whitmire has been hot recently, having also posted four or more steals the last four times he's played. Colston Wood was another key player, putting up 14 points.

As for Friendship Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points over those games.

Friendship Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elyon Graham led the charge by earning 18 points. Another player making a difference was Roger Maddox, who posted 17 points.

Coincidentally, White Creek Christian Academy and Friendship Christian will both be playing Varsity Opponent the next time they take the court. The Spartans will host Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on December 1, while the Eagles will host them at 6:00 p.m. on December 2.
