The University Hawks will take on the Robert C. Byrd Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. University will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
University is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Preston with a sharp 16-5 victory on Monday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 9, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Joey Deiriggi tossed a big game, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. University is 4-2 when Deiriggi allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-14 otherwise.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. University hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Robert C. Byrd struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
University might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Robert C. Byrd in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Hawks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
