Basketball Recap: Andrew Jackson Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

If Andrew Jackson Academy was riding high fresh off their 81-61 takedown of Jefferson Davis Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors took a 75-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Williston-Elko Blue Devils. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Andrew Jackson Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden McClung, who posted 17 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. That's the most steals McClung has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Dicks, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points and six steals.

Even though they lost, Andrew Jackson Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Andrew Jackson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Williston-Elko, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
